A website your customers can actually use on their phone

Most small business websites were built before phones mattered, or never got built at all. I fix that. Properly, quickly, and for a price you can see before you enquire.

Why this matters

Three things quietly costing you work

None of these announce themselves. You just get fewer calls than you should, and never find out why.

It does not work on a phone

Most people find a local business on a phone. If your site loads zoomed out and they have to pinch and drag to read it, a good number of them will simply go back and tap the next result.

Chrome says "not secure"

Sites still running on plain http get a warning in the address bar before anyone has read a word. It looks alarming even to people who do not know what it means.

It looks abandoned

A copyright date from 2011, a dead phone number, a gallery that never loaded. Visitors read that as "probably closed" and move on, even when you are busier than ever.

What you get

A real website, not a template with your logo dropped in

Every site is built for the business it belongs to, in a design you approve before anything is built.

Built for phones first

Designed on a small screen and widened from there, because that is where most of your customers actually are.

Genuinely fast

Hand written, no bloated page builder. It loads properly on a patchy mobile connection, which is most of the country.

Set up to be found

Proper page titles, your suburbs listed by name, and the business data Google needs to show you correctly in local results.

Enquiries that reach you

A contact form that lands in your inbox, a phone number people can tap, and a WhatsApp button if you want one.

Secure and backed up

HTTPS from day one, daily backups, and no plugins quietly going out of date and getting your site defaced.

Email on your own name

Move from a gmail address to one on your own domain. Optional, and nothing breaks when you do.

Straight answers

What I will not do

There is a lot of nonsense in this industry, so it is worth being clear about where the lines are.

  • No lock-in. The monthly is month to month. If you leave, I hand you the files and help you move them.
  • No holding your domain hostage. It stays in your name. That is not a favour, it is how it should always work.
  • No invented claims. Nothing goes on your site that you have not told me is true. No made up "established 1985", no stock photos of models pretending to be your team.
  • No guessing at SEO promises. I will set the site up correctly and tell you honestly what that does and does not achieve.
Worth knowing

This site is the sample

MyBizWeb is new. Rather than show you other people's work or borrowed logos, the honest thing is to point at the page you are reading.

It was built the same way yours would be: hand written, no page builder, loads in well under a second, works on any phone, and reads correctly if you have the text size turned up or you are using a screen reader.

Try it. Shrink the window. Turn your phone sideways. Zoom to 200%. It holds up, and so will yours.

How it works

Four steps, about two weeks

The only part that takes real effort from you is step two, and I make that as painless as I can.

Two weeks assumes you get me your photos and details in the first few days. That is genuinely the thing that decides how fast this goes.

  1. We talk, briefly

Ten minutes on the phone. What you do, who your customers are, what you want the site to achieve. No pitch.

  2. You send me your bits

A form asks you page by page what you want to say, and takes your photos straight off your phone. Where it needs a paragraph, answer a few short questions and it writes a draft for you to correct.

  3. I build it

You see a design first and sign it off. Then I build the real thing and send you a link to click through before it goes anywhere near the public.

  4. It goes live

I sort the domain, the certificate, the email and your Google listing. You pay once you are happy with what is in front of you.

Questions

The things people ask first

Do I have to pay upfront?

No. You see the design, then the finished site, and you pay once you are happy with it. If you do not like it, you do not pay and you owe me nothing.

What if I do not have a logo or any photos?

No logo is fine, I will set your business name in type properly, which often looks better than a bad logo anyway. Photos are trickier, because they are what actually sells the site. Photos off your phone are perfect. If you genuinely have none, tell me and we will work out what to do.

Will my email address change?

Only if you want it to. Keeping your existing address works fine. If you would rather move from a gmail or webmail address to one on your own domain, I move it across for you and nothing gets lost.

Can I update the site myself afterwards?

Not directly, and that is a deliberate trade off. Sites you can edit yourself are slower, need constant security updates, and tend to get broken. Instead, small text and photo changes are included in the monthly, so you email me and it is done, usually same day. If self editing matters to you, say so and I will quote it separately.

Who owns the website?

You do. The domain stays registered in your name, and the files are yours. If you ever leave, I hand everything over and help you move it. There is no clause anywhere that says otherwise.

Will it get me to the top of Google?

I am not going to promise that, and be careful of anyone who does. What I will do is build the site so Google can read it properly, list the suburbs you actually serve, and set up your Google Business Profile. For most local trades that is the bulk of what matters. Beyond that, ranking depends on your competition and takes months.

I got an email from you with a design already made. Is that real?

Yes. I put together a sample homepage for businesses whose current site looks like it needs one, based only on what is publicly on their Google listing. It is a genuine design, not a mockup template, and there is no obligation attached to it. If it is not for you, reply and say so and you will not hear from me again.

Have a look at what yours could be

Tell me about your business and I will come back with a straight answer on what it would cost and how long it would take. No obligation, no follow up if you are not interested.
