One person, doing this properly
No agency, no account manager, no reception. You deal with me from the first email to the day it goes live, and every day after that.
Why this exists
There is a particular kind of business I keep running into. It has been going fifteen years. The work is good, the reviews are good, the phone still rings. And the website was built in 2009 by someone's nephew, sits on http, and comes up as an unreadable postage stamp on a phone.
Nobody tells them. Customers do not phone to say "your site looked broken so I called someone else." The owner just notices things are a bit quieter than they used to be and puts it down to the economy.
The agencies quote them thirty thousand rand and six weeks of meetings, which is not a serious proposition for a four-person plumbing business. So nothing happens, and the site sits there for another five years quietly turning people away.
MyBizWeb exists for that gap. A proper site, built quickly, for a price that makes obvious sense against what one extra job a month is worth to you.
How I work
I build sites by hand, in plain HTML and CSS, on a server I run myself. No WordPress, no page builder, no theme bought off a marketplace and bent into shape. That is why the sites load in under a second and do not need patching every fortnight to stop them being hacked.
I use AI tooling heavily, and I would rather say that plainly than pretend otherwise. It handles the repetitive work: laying out pages, tidying your rough notes into readable paragraphs, compressing photos. What it does not do is decide anything about your business. Every fact on your site comes from you, and every sentence gets your approval before it goes anywhere near the public.
The saving from that tooling is the reason the price is what it is. I have passed it on rather than pocketed it, because the market I want is the one that cannot afford an agency.
What I am not
I am not a marketing agency. I will not manage your Google Ads, run your social media, or sell you an SEO retainer with a chart that goes up and to the right. I will build you a fast, honest website that is set up correctly for search, tell you truthfully what that achieves, and leave the rest alone.
I am also not the cheapest. There are people who will do it for R1 500. They are using a template, they will not answer the phone in six months, and the site will be broken within a year. That is a false economy and I am not going to compete with it.
Where I am
Cape Town. I work with businesses across South Africa and in the UK. Everything is done over email, phone and WhatsApp, so where you are does not really matter, though I do like knowing the area a business serves when I am writing about it.
MyBizWeb is new
I would rather tell you that than pad this page with stock photos of a team that does not exist and testimonials I made up.
What I can point at is this website. It was built exactly the way yours would be, and it will stand up to any test you want to put it through: open it on a bad connection, on an old phone, at 200% zoom, with a screen reader.
If you want to be an early client, the upside is that you will get more of my attention than you would in a year's time.
Things I believe
- Your domain belongs in your name, always
- A price you can read on the website beats "contact us for a quote"
- If a site needs 40 plugins to work, it was built wrong
- Nobody should have to pinch and zoom to read your phone number
Ten minutes on the phone
That is genuinely all it takes to work out whether this is worth doing for you. No pitch, and no follow up if you decide against it.
